Chargers Injury Report: In-Season Return Possible For Hurt Starting Wide Receiver
USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Chargers are continuing their frustrating season, as it has been a challenge for them the entire time. Their offense has been inconsistent all season long,  in part due to injuries that they have suffered.

But head coach Brandon Staley provided a positive update on injured wide receiver Josh Palmer, saying that he is eligible to come off the injured list at any time. Palmer has missed the last four games while dealing with a knee injury.

Palmer has been missed in the Bolts offensive system, and if he can return, that would be huge for them. In the seven games he has played this year, he has posted 23 catches for 377 yards and one score.

He gives this Chargers team another reliable receiving option, and quarterback Justin Herbert has established a nice rapport with him over the last few years. Palmer helps take the pressure off the other wide receivers and forces defenses to take him into account.

LA has dealt with multiple injuries to their wide receivers all season, and it could be a big reason why their record stands at 4-7. At times the offense looks explosive, and at others, it has looked dreadful.

With their skill-position players, LA should be one of the better offensive units in the league, but it hasn't translated. They ranked 11th in the league in total yards per game, but they should be even higher.

With the Bolts sitting with a record of 4-7, they can use all the help they can get. They have to start putting together wins down the stretch of the season, otherwise, they run the risk of having another wasted year.
